St. Mary's University Graduate Student Journal
Dean's Call for Papers
Submission Deadline: February 15, 2013
St. Mary's University students in the Graduate School, currently enrolled and recent alumni, are invited to submit papers, projects, and creative works for consideration for publication in the next issue of Academia, set for November 2013.
Publication in the journal is intended to signal high achievement in the field in which the student has studied; to stimulate intellectual life by helping to push current limits in students' fields or to make contributions to the professional field in which the student is engaging; and to recognize the student as a promising researcher, producer, originator of a creative work, or professional. Submissions are limited to graduate students and recent graduate alumni only. The works may recognize, without sharing authorship, the contributions of faculty advisers.
Works of all types will be considered by an editorial board appointed by Dr. Henry Flores, Dean of the Graduate School. All works should be submitted for initial review by February 15, 2013.
Submittees must enlist and identify a faculty sponsor who agrees, if the manuscript is accepted for publication, to assist the submitter through review and rewriting, in order to elevate the manuscript to publication quality. Successful submitters will be provided three copies of the journal and their publication in .pdf form, suitable to share with prospective educational institutions, employers, and others.
Submissions should be made in digital form to: theacademia@stmarytx.edu
A $200 prize will be awarded by the Dean's office, through the Editorial Board of Academia, to the student paper judged to be the best of the issue.
Questions may be addressed to:

Editorial Board Chair
