Reporting, Certifications, and Registration Requirements

Annual reports are generated and submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and include a summary of all Hazaradous Waste (HW) generated in our academic labs. An inventory of specific hazardous chemicals stored on-site is reported annually as a requirement of the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).

The following Licenses and Certifications are maintained by University Physical Plant employees:
  • Backflow Prevention Device Testing
  • Certified Pool Operator
  • EPA Refrigerant Handling
  • Forklift Operator
  • State of Texas Journeyman Electrician
  • State of Texas Journeyman Plumber
  • Structural Pest Control
  • Supervision of Asbestos Abatement
The following Licenses and Certifications are held by University contractors and consultants:
  • Asbestos Worker
  • Asbestos Inspector
  • Asbestos Contractor
  • Asbestos Management Planner
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist
Members of the Physical Plant Department are members of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Members of the University Safety Committee are members of University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA)
