| Progress Update - $133,318 to go! |
As you have no doubt heard, St. Mary’s has had a good year so far. This campaign (June 1 to May 31), we have received $27,742,262 in donations, including Distinguished Alumnus Bill Greehey’s generous $25 million gift to the business school.
One crucial component of fund raising for the University is the annual St. Mary’s Fund. |
 |
|
The St. Mary’s Fund raises dollars for immediate use and supports all areas of campus including scholarships, faculty research and campus grounds.
With three months left in the campaign, the St. Mary’s Fund has raised $332,681, which represents 71 percent of our goal. We are so close to reaching our goal thanks to $60,750 in leadership gifts from our trustees, a $25,000 anonymous gift and thousands more gifts from our alumni. But we still need to raise $133,318 in the next three months to complete our efforts. Your gift, no matter the size, helps keep tuition affordable for our students.

| Matching Gifts |
Many companies encourage charitable giving by "matching" employee contributions. If your employer is such a company, they will make a gift equaling or doubling the size of your contribution. Your company's human resources department should have specific details as to how it works. Most often, you are asked to complete a form and send it in with your contribution. |
| Will and Estate Planning |
A charitable gift to the University may provide valuable benefits to you and your family. Planned giving allows you to maximize the personal benefits of your charitable donation while providing you the opportunity to make a significant impact at St. Mary’s University.

| Barrett Memorial Bell Tower |
 |
Fund-raising efforts for the $1 million St. Mary’s University Barrett Memorial Bell Tower are complete and the groundbreaking occurred on Feb. 3. The Bell Tower will stand as a beacon of excellence and pride in northwest San Antonio and complement the University’s recent revitalization and beautification efforts.
|
The 100-foot tower will be a symbol of our rich history and Marianist traditions. Its constant and reverent toll will be heard throughout the community with the “Bells of St. Mary’s” serving as a reminder that St. Mary’s University has never ceased its belief in education and community building.

| Rattler Radio
Did you know that St. Mary’s students are working to get a radio station on campus?
To get the ball rolling, the students are starting with a single pre-recorded show and hope to build enough interest so they can research and develop more robust options, like an Internet or low-frequency radio station.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why contribute to the St. Mary’s Fund?
The St. Mary’s Fund helps provide deserving students the opportunity to get a quality education at an affordable price. In fact, the only way to keep tuition costs manageable for students is by having a strong annual fund.
Can I choose where my donation goes?
Yes. To view the St. Mary’s Fund giving choices, click here.
How much of my donation actually goes to the area I choose?
All donations, 100 percent, go directly to the area of your choice.
Is my gift to the St. Mary’s Fund tax deductible?
Yes, St. Mary’s University is a not-for-profit organization and all gifts are tax deductible.
When does the St. Mary’s Fund campaign start and finish?
The St. Mary’s Fund campaign runs from June 1 through May 31 every year.
If I contribute early in the year, will I still receive other mailings asking for donations?
No, you will not. Once alumni have given to the St. Mary’s Fund, they are not solicited again that campaign year.
My gift of $10, $50, or $100 would be a drop in the bucket. Why should I give?
Every gift to the St. Mary’s Fund is important. Think about it this way: if 10,000 alumni gave $50, St. Mary’s University would have $500,000 for our students next year. When we all work together, we can make great things happen for St. Mary’s!
I have more questions. How do I contact the St. Mary’s Fund Office?
We are happy to answer any questions you may have. You may e-mail us at afund@stmarytx.edu
or call our office at (210) 436-3303.
