Who Should Attend
This conference is designed for Department of Defense, corporate security managers, law enforcement, the business community and the Department of Homeland Security. Conference attendees are eligible to earn CLEs or TCLEOSE credits if applicable. The conference fee is $150 for those who register early. The fee for regular registration is $200.
Symposium Focus
This first of its kind conference presents a unique opportunity for leaders in the Department of Defense, law enforcement, and the business community to receive critical information on the full range of issues - legal and policy - related to cyber security. Because of the nation's dependence on the cyber world, cyber security is a matter that directly impacts all levels of society. Not only will internationally recognized subject matter experts provide the latest developments regarding the threat posed by cyber attacks as it impacts national security, law enforcement and the business community, the conference will also concentrate on identifying all of the myriad legal and policy challenges associated with each of these fields of interest. in addition, participants will receive actionable information regarding cyber security solutions and future trends to include the need for increased cooperation between DOD, law enforcment, and the public sector.

- Where is the cyber threat? An overview of cyber terror threats posed by nation-states, al-Qa'eda-styled terror groups, sub-State terror groups, and "lone-wolf" terrorists.
- Is the U.S. prepared for cyber challenges to the critical infrastructure? An analysis of the specific cyber threats to American business sectors that are deemed part of the nations "critical infrastructure," e.g., energy, petrochemical, electric utilities, communication, transportation, health, banking and finance, agriculture, water and shipping.
- What are the current mechanisms to deal with cyber attacks from a law enforcment perspective? An explanation of criminal law enforcement mechanisms to deal with and prosecute cyber attacks to include the 1984 Counterfeit Access Device and Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
- Should cyber security standards be mandated? Discussion of the development of government and private sector partnerships and the tension between "engagement and regulation."
- Is cyber a weapon of war? A comprehensive review of the national security operational doctrine and functional tools necessary to conduct cyberwarfare.
- Is the legal system paving the path to better cyber security? An understanding is the emerging field of "cyber premises liability" against businesses that suffer a cyber attack.
