Front page of the Express News! Headline: "Local expert calls Libya attack on 9-11 deliberate"
Jeffrey Addicott, director for the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary's University, says it's no coincidence that the first deadly attack on a U.S. ambassador in 33 years occurred on Sept. 11. “The dream of Osama bin Laden was not to achieve military victory, but to unite Arab Muslims in an Islamic extremist regime," he said. A mob armed with guns and grenades launched an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Tuesday, killing U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens the first U.S. envoy to die in the line of duty since 1979 and three other Americans. Addicott called on President Barack Obama to close the U.S. Consulate in Libya and withdraw aid there and in Egypt, where Islamic extremists have “taken over." "I'd cut off every penny to those countries," he said. “We need to tie the money to real reform." San Antonio Express News. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
