Commencement Tickets
Applying for Graduation
If you are planning to graduate in May, please submit your Application for Degree card by Friday, January 25, 2013. This card is required for final graduation audit, diploma order, publications and to be included in the commencement ticket distribution.
Students who file for graduation late or who do not confirm their Commencement Participation Form cannot be guaranteed the maximum number of guest tickets.
Number of Tickets
Commencement tickets will be limited and the number of tickets per graduate is dependent upon the number of graduation candidates. The size of graduating class will determine the amount of tickets to be distributed. The larger the graduating class, the fewer tickets distributed. Therefore, it is critical that you submit your Application for Degree card. We encourage students to apply to graduate by this deadline to ensure that you will be eligible to receive the maximum allotment of tickets. We cannot guarantee tickets for applications received after the deadline. The Application for Degree card is available in the Registrar's Office, St. Louis Hall, Room 104. If you submitted a card for a previous term (and did not graduate then), please submit a new one for Spring 2013 graduation.
We understand that you may have concerns with the number of tickets available for each graduate. To help you plan for this event and to accommodate additional guests, overflow seating without tickets will be directed to the University Center Conference Room A, where they may view a live broadcast of the Commencement Ceremony. Please note that the University Center (UC) will be open with approximately 440 extra seats. No tickets are required to enter the UC. The commencement ceremony will be streamed live to guests in the UC. Light refreshments will be served. Additionally, a kid's movie room (in Conference Room C) will be available for the younger guests. Immediately following the ceremony, all guests of the Bill Greehey Arena and the University Center will reunite with the graduates outside the arena. For guests unable to attend the ceremony, please note that ceremony will be live-streamed at www.stmarytx.edu/graduation
Ticket Distribution
Ticket distribution date is to be announced and will be distributed in the Office of the Registrar, St. Louis Hall Room 104. All degree requirements will be confirmed and the final list of graduates will be posted at 9 a.m. at www.stmarytx.edu/registrar. Be sure to check your e-mail frequently for updates. Lost, misplaced or stolen tickets will not be replaced.
A valid St. Mary's University identification card is required to pick up your tickets. Children age 3 and under do not need tickets provided they can sit upon an adult's lap for the duration of the ceremony.
Please complete and return the Commencement Participation Form below by March 8, 2013, regardless of your intent to participate in Commencement Exercises.
***Please note that no tickets are required for the Baccalaureate Mass.***
