Employer Presentations and Sponsored Special Events
The Civic Engagement and Career Development Center can support you in identifying additional outreach opportunities to meet qualified candidates to fill your recruiting needs.
NOTE: All on-campus recruiting activity MUST be coordinated through Civic Engagement and Career Development Center.
Contact Lauren Thomas, Assistant Director for Employer and Agency Relations at (210) 436-3102 to set up the following on-campus recruiting activities:
Information Table
- Many organizations prefer to simply set up an information table in the University Center (St. Mary's student union) to promote their company and recruit students/alumni for full-time, part-time, internship and service opportunities. While this activity can be coordinated at any time of the year, it is often a nice complement to a scheduled on-campus interview visit.
Information Session
- To increase the level of candidate interest. For this approach, the information session is typically held during the "resume submission" time frame. We recommend a networking model that allows for a brief 30 minute networking session which allows for personal interaction between recruiters and students/alumni.
- To address frequently asked questions that might come up during the interview. (i.e. "What are benefits?" or "What opportunities exist for advancement"). These sessions will typically be held the night before a scheduled interview date.
Class Presentation
- Class presentations (10-20 minutes) offer an opportunity to connect with St. Mary's University faculty as well as a captive audience of students. We will consult with you regarding appropiate classes and faculty contacts.
Student Organization Presentations
- St. Mary's has about 80 student organizations, fraternities, and sororities on campus that are generally receptive to coordinating employer information sessions for their members. The Civic Engagement and Career Development Center will work with you to identify specific student organizations that may be of interest to you.
