Soon your son or daughter will be attending their first year of college. Students need to take an active role in understanding their financial responsibility and to stay informed at all times of their current staus and future registrations, We want you to assist them as needed, but it's also important to let them learn how to deal with financial responsibilities and meeting any deadlines.

What should you expect regarding billing and notification of payment deadlines for the future?

Billing

Students are responsible for reviewing their bill online each semester using Gateway or they can request a statement using our e-mail address: businessoffice@stmarytx.edu.

When classes are in session, our two primary methods of communication are:

                           1. Through the student's St. Mary's email account and
                           2. Notices posted on Gateway

Payment Deadlines

If a student registers for the summer session, bills will be available online approximately mid-April. The payment deadline is May 27 for Summer. The deadline to make payments, set up a payment plan or confirm that financial assistance will cover charges is August 15 for the Fall and January 10 for the Spring. (All loan applications must be approved by the deadline date.) Meeting the deadlines helps reduce the burden of making financial decisions while the student is starting the new academic session. For payment plan options, please review the Payment Confirmation Form under the "Forms for Download" link.

A late payment fee ($150) is assessed each semester to students that miss the payment deadlines. Help your student avoid financial and administrative penalties by helping them remember these important payment deadline dates. We recommend this helpful hint: Use the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving holidays as reminders for the August 15 and January 10 payment deadlines.
