Individual Outstanding Awards

The Applied Business Entrepreneurship Association International (ABEAI) conference is held annually at Wailea Beach, Hawaii. Academicians, business professionals, and business students congregate to discuss current business research with a focus on global business. I am scheduled to present my research paper, Evolving Business Environment of Mexico and Brazil: Implications for International Entrepreneurs at the ABEAI conference in November 2011. Mexico and Brazil have undergone significant transformation in the past decades providing unique business opportunities for the international entrepreneur. This paper provides a preliminary review of economic and regulatory factors affecting the business environments of Mexico and Brazil. Emphasis is given to the developmental path by each country in its economic liberalization and the implication of these differences for international entrepreneurs interested in pursuing business opportunities in these emerging markets. The firm support of research activities at the Bill Greehey School of Business has made possible this incredible opportunity.

"The networking opportunities, contacts I obtained while in the program that I've been able to utilize after graduation, and the friends and people I know from the program that are all over the world and some still in the San Antonio area continue to impact my life in a positive way."
"In the Greehey Scholars Program I found something I enjoyed doing as my volunteer project (making quilts for the Children's Shelter) and I've continued with something similar at NuStar (creating items such as baby blankets, booties, and hats for premature babies withThreads of Love)."
"The GSP helped me integrate into a new community. Additionally, the program consistently delivered the opportunities and support needed to be a successful business person. I would recommend the GSP to anyone who would like to pursue a career path in business, and who is willing to give the extra effort that is generously compensated by both economic and non-economic benefits."
"The GSP challenged me while I was at St. Mary's and that has served me well at work and in an accelerated graduate program. As a part of the GSP I also had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of people which is what I will be doing in grad school as well as in my career so those experiences were very valuable."
