Nathan Byerley
This is Nathan's second year as the St. Mary's Head Athletic Trainer.
Nathan grew up in Mathis, Texas and graduated from Mathis High School. He began his undergraduate career in hopes of becoming a doctor but soon realized he loved the sporting atmosphere and changed his major to Athletic Training. He attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and completed the CAATE Accredited Athletic Training program. There, Nathan, covered NCAA Division I Sports offered by the university as well as completing a rotation with the local semi-professional hockey team, the Corpus Christi Ice Rayz.
He then continued his education and entered the Master's Program at Texas State University. As a graduate assistant, Nathan worked through Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio to cover local area high school sporting events. Nathan received his Master's in Athletic Training as well as his teaching certification in the Sciences.
Nathan holds certifications as: a Certified Athletic Trainer from the Board of Certification, a Licensed Athletic Trainer from the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, a Professional Rescuer-First Aid and CPR from the American Red Cross, and the Graston Technique Certification.
Nathan met is loving wife, Amy, while in his undergrad at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Amy is a Registered Nurse in San Antonio. Nathan and Amy were married on May 23, 2009 and are beginning their family here in San Antonio, Texas.
