No More Dues

That's right. The Alumni Association no longer requires dues as part of your memberships.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors, in conjunction with St. Mary's University, decided to focus on increasing alumni philanthropic participation. With this new focus, the Board of Directors voted to eliminate the Association's dues payment program. Dues were eliminated with the hope that alumni would designate these funds as donations to the University. In addition to providing funding for the University, alumni participation is a significant factor in the national rankings of colleges and universities.

Our participation rate has been steady with the national average at just under 10%. We think St. Mary's is above average and want our participation numbers to reflect that. When our alumni make a gift, it sends the message that they value their experience at St. Mary's. With your support and participation, we can increase the prominence of St. Mary's University and the value of our degree.

Your financial support of the University impacts thousands of students each year. Financial hardship is the number one reason that students do not finish school. Given today's economic climate, it is more challenging now than ever for many families to pursue a higher education, but scholarships can make earning a college degree a reality for deserving students. Currently, the Alumni Association provides scholarships and financial assistance to more than 230 students. With your support and participation, we can increase the prominence of St. Mary's University and the value of our degree. No gift is too small, and every gift makes a difference.
