How you can get involved:

College Fairs - Represent St. Mary’s at College Day/Night programs in your city or town.

Correspond with prospective and admitted students in your area - Through phone calls, e-mail, and/or snail mail, encourage students to continue or complete the admission process or visit the campus, and by doing so, help them make a connection and understand the value of a St. Mary’s education.

Host a prospective student/family for dinner - Share your experiences in a small personalized setting with a prospective student and their family.

Host a reception (“Send-Off Party”) - In conjunction with the Alumni Chapters in your area, host a Send-Off Party in August for students who are about to begin their first year at St. Mary’s.

“Adopt” a new student - An opportunity for San Antonio area alumni is to “adopt” a new student who is not from the San Antonio area. This gives the new student a friendly and supportive contact in San Antonio. Host families plan at least two get-togethers per semester based on common interests of the family and student.

These activities provide you with the opportunity to share nostalgic experiences with prospective students and their families. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will train volunteers on an annual basis and provide you with updated information about the University including information about admission requirements, application procedures, financial aid procedures and housing, as well as answers to the most commonly asked questions.
