St. Mary’s undergraduates benefit from being part of a technology-enhanced learning community. All students entering in fall 2009 will be required to have a notebook computer that meets St. Mary’s hardware and software requirements. You may purchase your notebook from your preferred vendor. We're excited to offer you this flexibility. In turn, it's your responsibility to select a unit that meets or exceeds the following system specifications.

Recommended system requirements
    * 1.8 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    * 2.0 GB of system memory
    * 80 GB hard drive
         Support for DirectX 9 graphics with:
          256 MB of graphics memory (minimum)
    * DVD-ROM drive
    * Audio output

In order to take advantage of free University software resources (including Microsoft Office), students must have one of the following operating systems:
Windows XP Professional SP3
Windows Vista
Mac OS X

A wireless card (802.11b/g/n) is optional, but we believe you will want to take advantage of the University’s wireless network.
