What are Mobile Updates?

Mobile updates are helpful text messages sent directly to your mobile phone. They notify you of important admission dates and deadlines and provide reminders about special admission events near you and on campus.

Is there a charge for this?

We provide this service to you at no charge, but depending on your text messaging plan, standard text message rates may apply.

How many texts will I receive?

On average, you will receive between zero to five texts each month. If you ever feel it is too much, you can manage your profile and choose to receive updates on events, important dates and deadlines, your application status or all of the above.

Who can sign up for Mobile Updates?

Typically, Mobile Updates subscribers will be high school juniors and seniors who are interested in applying to St. Mary's University. Other subscribers are those interested in transferring to St. Mary's. Parents and guardians are also welcome to participate. This service is designed for anyone who is interested in learning more about St. Mary's University and wants to be informed about upcoming events and admission dates and deadlines.

What Mobile Updates should I sign up to receive?

We want to send you information that's important to you.

If you have applied or are considering applying for admission, we think you'll want to sign up for the important dates and deadlines. If you're interested in visiting the campus, attending an admission event on campus or in the city where you live, you'll want to sign up for our special events notices.

The beauty is if you just want to receive updates about events, you can manage that in your profile. Just the same, if you want to only receive updates about dates and deadlines, you can manage that as well.

Will you sell my phone number or any of my information?

No, absolutely not! We're serious about protecting your privacy; all the information we collect will remain for our purposes only.

How do I stop receiving Mobile Updates?

To stop receiving Mobile Updates, you can reply with the words STMU STOP to any text message. It will take 24 to 48 hours to update in our system and you will stop getting text messages from us. At any time, you may also call the Office of Admission to stop receiving messages.

How do I manage my profile?

Manage your profile by typing in your mobile number. You will be prompted to enter a PIN. From there, follow the on-screen directions.
