St. Mary's University is proud of its outstanding music faculty. It's full time faculty hold doctorates and, along with its adjunct faculty, are professional musicians and scholars with long lists of credentials. Private lessons on nearly every instrument and voice can be studied in this department, regardless of your major. What is equally important is the nurturing environment created by this caring faculty.

St. Mary's also boasts of a number of outstanding music ensembles: two excellent choirs called Coro y Camera Santa Maria, the St. Mary's Concert Band, and St. Mary's Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Combo. A number of other smaller ensembles have recently been created, such as the early music ensemble, Antiqua Santa Maria, and an exciting salsa jazz ensemble. Scholarships are also readily available to music majors, minors and participants. Regardless of your major, the music department invites you to participate with us. There is truly something for everyone's musical taste at St. Mary's.
