Eugene Scassa
Scassa is a member of the U.S. Foreign Service since 1962 and has served in Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Served as Executive Director of the Bureau of Inter-American Affairs from 1986-1990, and concurrently served at the Deputy Assistant Secretary level. In 1990, President Bush nominated Scassa as Ambassador to Belize, a post he held for nearly four years. He most recently served as Assistant to U.N. Ambassador Madeleine Albright.

Scott is a retired Foreign Service officier who spent his entire career in development work. He served in Tanzania, Kenya, Vietnam, Panama, Costa Rica, Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Liberia and Malawi. Mr. Scott also served as Director of the Office of Food for Peace-Latin America and Caribbean Division and chief of Transition Initiatives, Bureau of Humanitarian Response - USAID.
