The Exercise and Sport Science major prepares students for various careers. The major equips student with the academic knowledge and the practical experience necessary to work in a variety of recreational and fitness settings. Students interested in teaching physical education and/or coaching in secondary schools choose Exercise and Sport Science as a first or second teaching field. The major also serves as preparation for graduate study in areas such as exercise physiology, athletic training and sports rehabilitation. The Exercise and Sport Science StudentStudent interested in working in a "movement" environment, such as athletics, physical education, athletic training, fitness and personal training, would enjoy the Exercise and Sport Science major. The following courses are required for the Exercise and Sport Science major:
Note: To teach Physical Education or coach in a secondary school, students must fulfill the requirements of the Teacher Education program. |
